[From Ock Own Correspondent.] LONDON, October 9. Miss K. Primmer lias just returned from Sweden, where she spent about three months in the north. It is still practically unknown to tourists, and so gave, with its wonderful scenery, ample scope for painting. Some of the resulting canvases will lie submitted for competition purposes at the Royal -Academy schools, where she is still studying. , Mr Kenneth Grinling has now reached the goal of many ambitious young actors —a part on a West End stage. After a' successful season as assistant manager at the Northampton Repertory Theatre Mr Grinling toured in Edinburgh. Now he is to appear in the next production at the Playhouse Theatre in a play called ‘ C.1.D.,’ an intriguing title. The crew of the New Zealand plane Tainui has finished organising and training work, and is at Mildcnhall waiting for the start next week of the big event, the Melbourne centenary air race. The crew consists of Squadron Leader J. D. He wet t, Pilot Officer C. Kay, and "Radio .Officer F. Stewart, Several well-known New Zealanders have arranged to be present at the starting, among whom will be Sir James Parr and members of the High Commissioner’s Office, Mr and Mrs and Miss Norwood, Mr L. Herd (of Auckland), Miss Batchelor (of Christchurch), Dr and Airs Gray (of Thames), and Air Ford (of Auckland). Mr, Airs, and Aliss Norwood, of AVcllington, are staying at Grosvenor House, London. Air A. E. Ford, general manager of the Auckland Transport Board, arrived the other day, and is off to Alanchester almost at once on transport business.
