A wedding of much interest' was solemnised on November 14 at St. Patrick’s Basilica when Mary Agnes (Myla), only daughter of Mrs Catherine and the late Sergeant-Major Porteous, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to William Patrick, only son of Air and Mrs Wilson, Alexandra. The bride who entered the church on the arm of her uncle (Mr Jack Porteous) looked charming in a model frock of white crepe satin cut on classical lines with a cowl neck of white lace. Miss Lulu Walsh, as bridesmaid, wore a frock of buttercup sand crepe moulded to the figure and flaring from the knees, the skirt being finished with insets of frilled georgette. Her ensemble was completed with a hat of natural coloured leghorn straw trimmed with buttercup silk velvet. She carried a sheaf of roses and ranunculi. Miss Dorothy Hunt, the second bridesmaid chose for her frock almond green organdie made on close fitting linos to the knees, flaring into two dee;) ankle length frills, the neck being finished with tiny frills. She also wore a leghorn straw hat and shoes to tone. Her sheaf was of golden ranunculi. Miss Joyce Rortcous, the little flower girl, wore a Kate Greenaway frilled frock of almond green organdie and Juliet cap and shoes to match and carried a Victorian posy. The duties of best man were capably carried out by Mr R. O’Reilly (cousin of the bridegroom). Mr A. Riach acted as groomsman. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the Hydro, St. Glair, by the bride’s mother, assisted by Mrs O’Reilly, sister of the bridegroom.
