POWER USERS
MUNICIPAL PROTECTION ASSOCIATION (Van Ueited Pees* Assochaw*.] WELLINGTON, May 21. Commenting on the action of municipalities supplying electric power in forming an association to protect their interests, the mayor (Mr Hislop) said to-day power boards’ policy apparently was, if possible, to get control of municipally-owned undertakings. This would be in the worst interests of municipalities. There seemed to be a move to get the municipalities taken over, so that their accumulated resources, the result of years of careful administration, would be used to _ bolster up benefits they were not entitled to be used for. The association had been forced to protect the rights of municipalities and their consumers.
