James Sheridan, a lorry driver, was fined £1 for having; only one light on In's lorry on the morning of April 28. This was the occasion when a lorry struck a bike ridden by W. T. Cotton, of Lower Hutt. Cotton subsequently died. It was stated that civil proceedings were pending.—Wellington Press Association.
