MARIE DRESSLER IN 'EMMA'
OCTAGON'S DOUBLE BILL Laughter and tears, pathos and humour—she is the master of them all, with that rare gift of playing upon the heart strings of humanity, endearing herself to everyone, and establishing her personality with an indelible stamp. Such are the gifts of Marie Dressier, who will be seen in the crowning triumph of her great career, ‘ Emma,’ at the Octagon Theatre on Friday. Pictures come and pictures go, to be soon forgotten, but not so in the case of Miss Dressier, whose ‘ Min and Bill’ (for which she received ‘ Motion Picture’.award two years ago), ‘Politics,’ and othei successes, will long stand as monuments to the perfect artiste the actress undoubtedly is. In ‘ Emma ’ she is seen in one of the most human roles she has ever portrayed. Mothering a family of her employer’s children, showering upon its members all the love of her big heart, loving the children better than her own life, we see Marie in all her many moods. Now brusque in an attempt to cover up a kindly action, now hilarious as she sees . the humour of a situation, and, again, occasionally sad. Tlie other full-length picture is 1 Uihe to Every Woman,’ featuring Fay i JVray; and Ralph, Bellamy* _ C
