CHANGE OF NAME
“AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION" [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, May 15. A further step towards settling motorists’ differences over the question of the names of the automobile associations and clubs has been taken by the executive of the South Island Motor Union. The union’s executive has approved of the general name of “ Automobile Association ” for the whole of New Zealand, .with a territorial name in brackets in the various districts._ The executive also favours the deregistration of the name “ New Zealand Automobile Association.” Mr F. W. Johnston, president of the South Island Motor Union, said he thought that the suggested change of name was an excellent arrangement, which would lead to co-ordination of services throughout New Zealand. However, he was still of the opinion that there should be some head body to keep in touch with' the dominion on international matters.
