THE INIMITABLE GEORGE GEE

RIOTOUS COMEDY FOR ST. JAMES Film-goers have been eagerly awaiting the successor to George Gee’s first picture ‘ Cleaning Up,’ and now it has been completed in the British Lion comedy, ‘ Strike It Rich,’ which will be screened at the St. James on Friday. The story deals with the adventures and misadventures of a down-trodden clerk who suffers from an inferiority complex, until he visits a phrenologist, who, after reading his bumps, tells him that he is a second Naopleon. This news has the effect of giving him such confidence in himself that he almost becomes a power in the world of “big business,’’ but not until after he has extricated himself from a number of awkward situations. The film contains as many laughs as ‘ Cleaning Up,’ and provides an ideal medium for George Gee’s comedy. Gina Malo plays opposite the popular comedian, and gives a performance which promises well for her future. Others who figure prominently in the c«ist are Davy Burnaby and Betty Astell, who speaks French and German fluently, and is at present studying Spanish. Any other spare time which she can snatch from work on the set is spent on a novel wdiich she is wilting and she has already written a number of short stories. Before makiug * Strike it Rich ’ IVliss Astell had appeared in several other British JLion productions, including George Gees previous picture, ‘Cleaning Up.
