Mr Muto died at 9.30 p.m. His assassin left a letter declaring that his motive was a private grudge because Mr Muto appropriated his idea editorially in tho Jiji Shimpo, but tho police are now trying to establish a connection between the murderer and the Banchokai Business Association, which was prominently connected with a scandalous shares deal which Mr Muto attacked in a series of articles.
