(Received February 8, at 10 a.m.) Jack Ryder will captain the Australian team in New Zealand, Richardson having withdrawn. It seems certain that Fiugleton will be asked to fill the position of vice-captain. The ‘ Dailv Telegraph says: “In a sense it would be unwise to'bring a retired player like Ryder into such _ a team, but there are exceptional circumstances, and Ryder, a former Australian leader, will add more interest to the side and the tour.” • The ‘ Labour Daily says: “ Trembath has been chosen on pace and promise. He has physique as well as pace, and is said to be faster than Theak.”
