PROTESTANT ALLIANCE

The fortnightly meeting of the Triumph Lodge, No. 9, was held in the lodge hall, Kensington, when the W.M., Bro. Jas. Weir, presided. After the general business the lodge adjourned for the purpose of holding a social and dance given by the Lodge Band to the members and their friends. There was a large number present, and the _W. master extended a welcome to all, it being the first social of the year. A programme of musical and vocal items was given and dancing was carried on till midnight. There was a good attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of the Valley True Blue, when W.M. Bro. Turner presided. Visitors present included W.G.M. Bro.-Harvey, P.G.M. Bro. Devlin, and P.M. Bro. Arnold. Two candidates were initiated. W.M. Sister Morgan, officers and members of Pride of Valley Ladies’ Lodge were welcomed by the W.M. It was decided to again hold the annual picnic at Smaill’s. Beach. P.G.M. Devlin addressed the members and urged them to accompany the Grand Executive to Oamaru on .February 10 to instal the officers of Star of Oamaru. W.G.M. Bro-. Harvey presented P.M. Bro. Barrett with a past master’s collar. P.M. Bro. Barrett, in his reply, referred to the harmonious working which had existed between his officers and himself during his term of office.
