The regular meeting of Enterprise Lodge, No. 8, was held on Wednesday, January 24, when a good attendance of members greeted Arch Druid Bro. E. Maybee. An invitation was received from Mistletoe Lodge to attend their meeting on February 13, and it was decided to attend officially. The secretary presented. his half-yearly balance-sheet, and it was very gratifying to note that there was still a growth in ■ the funds, despite the adverse conditions that prevail to-day. One of the auditors, Bro. A. J. Cannon, explained the various funds, and also complimented the officers concerned. The bard’s report' disclosed that there is a large amount of sickness amongst the members, and sick pay amounting to £3l was passed for payment. The secretary,. Bro. R. S. Webb, during the .evening, . held a table tennis competition which . was very keenly contested, the winner proving to be Bro. W. Smaill. D.P. Bro. E. H. Bezett then presented to Bro. Smaill a small trophy. Bro. Smaill thanked the D.P. for . the presentation. As the first of the social evenings for the year is to be held on next lodge night, it was decided to meet at 7 p.m. Supper was then handed round. . Arch Druid Bro. Shepherd presided over a large attendance of members at the Otago Lodge last Monday.. Correspondence included an invitation to Mistletoe Lodge on February 13 and Alexandra Lodge on February 24 if satisfactory arrangements can be made. Linden Lodge challenge for the euchre shield was accepted for February 12. District Pres. Bro. Morris paid an official visit and was. accorded the honours attached to his rank. Other welcome visitors were Bros. Jacobson (All Nations Lodge) and Ford (Enterprise Lodge). Later an enjoyable game of cards was held.
