Mr De Valera, who was interviewed, said that after a year in office everything was working out as he anticipated. There was no prospect of an election, but if, oue was held the Government would be returned with an. increased majority. Speaking of the Government’s achievements, he said he believed that when the Government ended its term the Eree State would possess well-balanced economy, instead of the previous lopsided insecurity. The farmers were benefiting during the current financial year by relief from taxes and land annuities to the extent of £5,500,000. -
