Kalili demonstrated his versatility when he brilliantly won the 300yds medley Australian championship, introduced for the first time in this country, and comprising 100yds breast-stroke, 100yds back-stroke; and 100yds free style. Ilis time was 3min 58 4-Ssec. The Olympic breast-stroke champion. Miss Claire Dennis, winning the 220yds breast-stroke, broke Miss D. Thompson’s Queensland record by 12 l-ssec. The English visitor. Miss Joyce Cooper, gave all the competitors a lesson in the women’s 100yds back-stroke with her effortless, powerful stroke, winning her event in Imin 13 3-ssec, which was 6seo better than L. Venning’s Queensland record. Kalili and Miss Cooper were ineligible for the title. Results: 300yds Medley—A. King (Victoria) 1, A. Crawford (Victoria) 2, T. Boast (Queensland) 3. Time, 4min 1 l-ssec.
