PRIME MINISTER’S TOUR

VISIT TO SOUTH OTAGO (Special to the ‘.Stab.’] BALCLUTHA, January 25. The Prime Minister (Mr Forbes) and party arrived at Balclutha at 10.30 this morning from Gore. They were welcomed by Mr D. T. Fleming (mayor), Mr D. R. Jack (chairman of the Clutha County Council), Mr A. E. Russell (chairman of the Otago Power Board), borough councillors, and the town clerk. The site of the new Clutha bridge was visited, the engineer in 'charge conducting the party on an inspection. After a half-hour halt the party proceeded to Milton, arriving at 11.30, and were welcomed by Mr J. Grey (mayor) and others. The Bruce Woollen Mills was inspected, and after lunch the party left for Dunedin, visiting en route the Mosgiel Mills and the Lime and Cement Works at Green Island.
