BOXING
PARKER BEATS LISTER [Per United Press Association.] TIMARU, January 19. In the best professional boxing contest seen in Timaru for a long time Eddie Parker (Timaru) beat Harry Lister (Greymouth) on points over fifteen rounds. Parker, who fought with great confidence outhoxed and outgeneralled his opponent. Lister resorted to showmanship, earning the displeasure of the crowd. Parker was given an ovation for his fine display.
