FRENCH IMPORT QUOTAS
RETALIATION BY ITALY Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. ROME, January 17. (Received January 18, at 2 p.m.) In response to the French quotas a decree has been issued placing an embargo on numerous commc titles, including coke, linen textiles, agricultural machinery, and straw and felt hats. _ It does not apply to countries with which there are commercial treaties excluding embargoes or to countries not restricting Italian exports; therefore it does not affect Britain. It also announces heavy new duties on French exports.
