MOSGIEL P.W.M.U. GARDEN PARTY

Some two hundred members and friends were present at the annual garden party of the Mosgiel P.W.M.u m which was held in the Mosgiel District High School gardens on Saturday afternoon. The Mosgiel Municipal Band, conducted by Mr L. Borrow,' rendered several items during the afternoon. The Busy Bees, trained by Misses M. Prentice and Jean- Hendry, presented the maypole dance.. The beautiful school gardens were at their best under the ideal weather conditions, making a pleasant setting for the fete. The stallholders were Mesdames J. Graham and J. M‘Gregor (produce stall) 5 Mesdames Weddell and Gilmore (sweets stall); Mesdames Smith and Hasler (work stall); Mesdames Livingston, Osbourne, and Weddefspoon (cake stall) ; Misses Prentice, Kennedy, arid Jean Hendry (competitions) . Mrs W. M'Leod, Mrs Prentice, and assistants had charge of the afternoon tea arrangements. The thanks of the association are due to the band for its assistance in a worthy cause. Some £2O was realised from the members’ efforts for the garden party.
