(Received November IG, at 9 a.m,) President Roosevelt announced today that the Secretary for the Treasury (Mr W. H. Woodin) would begin “ complete leave of absence ” at the week-end, pending the return of Mr Henry Morgenthau, jun., Acting Secretary. Mr Woodin tendered his resignation, which President Roosevelt did not accept, preferring Mr Woodin to take a complete rest in order to recuperate from throat infection.
