SPORTS MEETING POSTPONED

Due to the unsuitability of the wet tracks at the “ Gale ” last evening the Otago Athletic and Cycling Chib’s first sports meeting of the season was postponed for the second time. It was to have been held the previous Wednesday. As the weather had cleared considerably by the time the meeting was scheduled to start last evening a number of Highland dancers appeared, and it was decided to hold three of the dancing competitions, which resulted;—Highland (ling (under 10): Mavis Meissel I, Helen Macmillan 2. Sean -tniibhais (under 12): Norma Marshall 1, Margie Baxter 2. Sailor’s hornpipe (under 14) • Leggy Black 1, Millie Baxter 2. The cycling and running events, in addition to four further dancing competitions, will be decided next Wednesday night.
