Mr Marlin moved tliat Mr Johnston convey to the Auckland Association the good wishes of the Otago Association. Mr Mai tin pointed out that, although Auckland did not see eye to eye with Otago in interprovincial matters, nevertheless the Otago Association held tlie view that a bond of good-fellowship existed in that these associations controlled the sport of yachting in their respective provinces. It was hoped that Auckland would again be sailing in. competition with the sister provinces in the very near future. Mi Johnston thanked the Otago Association for inviting him to be present at the meeting, and said he was glad to hear that no ill-feeling existed with Auckland, although the latter association was at present apart in interprovincial races. He suggested that a lui'ui oi membmhi]) ticket covering yachting associations and yacht clubs ot New Zealand should he inaugurated, which could be used when members visited various centres away from their own. He thought that the feeling was that Otago was with Auckland, and that feeling was very much appreciated by Auckland yachtsmen. It was reported that all arrangements for opening day on Saturday were now complete. The opening will be held at Vnnxhall.
