NEW SITE FOR IYA

The probability that the site for the new IYA transmitting station would be definitely chosen shortly was announced by Mr E. C. Hands, general manager of the New Zealand Broadcasting Board, who paid a visit to Auckland recently. He said the results of the tests taken from various sites in the vicinity of Auckland had been “ plotted out ” by the board’s engineering staff for submission to the board, and added that sketch plans of the new studio and office had been prepared and tenders would bo called within a few days.
