DEATH AND DESTRUCTION

SEVERE MONSOON Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. CALCUTTA, September 2. It is many, years since an Indian monsoon has taken so heavy a toll of death and destructon as that which followed in the wake of this year’s excessively heavy rainfall. The death roll was added to yesterday when sixteen persons were hilled by a collapsing veranda in Alwar during a religious ceremony.
