Lang, Leader of the Opposition, moved a motion of censure eased on the Government’s so-called disregard of the privations of the unemployed and its ‘‘ filching ” of £3,000,000 from the wages tax fund and diverting it to the Consolidated Revenue, thereby depriving starving families of muchneeded sustenance.
The Premier (Mr B. S. Stevens), in the course of bis reply, declared that the Government had actually spent £2,173,313 more than in the previous year on unemployment relief.
