CALCUTTA, June 8.. The Japanese Consul-General in India says that it is unfortunate that India should increase the duty on Japanese cptton piece goods while delicate negotiations are in progress. The Government’s action might have a serious effect on diplomatic relations. Japanese public opinion is indignant at the British and Indian attempts to 'cripple Japanese overseas trade."
