EXPLOSIVES USED TO ALARM
ONE MAM CONVICTED—ANOTHER ACQUITTED THE WEST COAST CASE [Per United Press Association.] 6REYMOUTH, June 8. In the' Supremo Court before Mr Justice Blair to-day two men named James M‘Lay Wright and Arthur Lewis Schroder were charged with having wilfully damaged on May 21 the dwelling house of Joseph Nohra at Caploston, by an explosion whilst Nohra and three other persons were within the building, that with intent to intimidate and annoy Nohra they damaged Nohra’s dwelling by an explosion, and that with intent to intimidate and annoy Nohra they attempted to alarm him by discharging explosives adjacent to his dwelling. Both the accused were defended by Mr T. F. Brosnan. The hearing lasted all yesterday and to-day. The jury retired at 4.10 p.m., returning at 7.30 p.m. with a verdict of not guilty on all counts against Schroder. Wright was found guilty on the third charge of attempting to alarm Nohra and was remanded till to-morrow for sentence.
