CHARGE OF CHILD .VRUDER. A New Plymouth Association message states that a Maori, Bella Thomson, of Inglewood,, single, aged twenty, was charged to-day with the murder of her newly horn child on May 21, and concealment of birth. She'was remanded till Tuesday, ft is understood that an Inglewood doctor was called to attend accused on May 2-1, and found that * a child had been born and the body removed. Subsequently the body was rcovered.- —Press Association. HEAVYWEIGHT BOXING. NEW YORK, June 8. Max Baer defeated Max Sehmeling on a technical knock-out in the tenth of a scheduled fifteen round contest. ATTEMPTED ARSON CHARGE After further evidence had been heard in the Police Court this afternoon in connection with the charges of theft and attempted arson against Raymond Theodore Padman, the accused, represented by Mr E. J. Smith, pleadeu not guilty on both charges and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial, defence being reserved. Bail was refused. STOCK EXCHANGE.
