GRACIE FIELDS RETURNING

OCTAGON BOOKS 1 SALLY IN OUR ALLEY ' The presentation of ‘ Sally in Our Alley ’ at the Octagon Theatre on Friday will afford theatregoers an opportunity of seeing Grade Fields, who has the reputation of being one of the highest-paid vaudeville artists in England. The picture is yet another triumph for British Dominion Films, and abounds in a wealth of comedy of the variety that has made Grade Fields popular with gramophone and radio enthusiasts in this city. The story running through ‘ Sally in Our Alley,’ which was previously shown at the Empire Theatre last March, is a simple one, but offers many opportunities for clever vaudeville and comedy work, and, although Miss Fields is prominent in this class of entertainment, mention should also be made of the supporting players, who give_ excellent performances. All the artists in the film are people possessing 'outstanding stage reputations, and this is not to be wondered at when their portrayals on the screen are studied. Characters lire well maintained by lan Hunter, Florence Desmond (who is exceptionally good), Florrie Small, and Ben Fields, all of whom contribute a quota to a gem of amusement.
