CHRISTMAS EVE RELIEF TRAIN.

TO THB EDITOR. Sir, —1 would like to ask what section of the community is being catered for by the Government in running on Christmas Eve a special relief train scheduled to leave at 12.5 p.m. for the north. Perhaps the Government is not aware that business places do not close until 12.30 p.m., and employees desiring to travel north have either to ask for an hour off on the busiest Saturday morning of the year, or else wait till 10 p.m. and travel all night in order to patronise our own railways.—l am, etc., Worker. December 14.
