DOUGLAS CREDIT SYSTEM.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Miss King contends that if tho Douglas Credit System were in operation ibe individual would have sufficient for the ordinary demands of life, and also a reasonable amount of money for leisure and pleasure, and that would naturally lead to individual self-develop-ment. If that is true, what would bo the influence or power that would inspire tho individual to strive for selfdevelopment ? Furthermore, would Miss King please explain why, with our boasted system of national education, is it that by far the greater majority of New Zealanders are the slaves of psychological necessity? I would like to know what Miss King would advocate to free people from the slavery of psychological necessity. Where psychological necessity is pronounced it retards mental anil moral progress. —1 am, etc., PItOCRKSS. October 13.
