OCEAN BEACH SCOUTS
MEETING DF PARENTS COMMITTEE About forty parents attended the annual meeting of the Parents’ Committee of the Ocean Poach Scout Troop, which was held in the Scout 1:1 a 11, St. Kilcla, last night. Mr W. Pullar (chairman of committee) was in the chair. lu moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, the Chairman commented on the favourable position of the committee’s finances. While perhaps not so good a balance as the previous year’s, yet the committee was able to show, after making provision lor all expenses incidental to the maintenance of a large hall and the running of the various troops, a surplus of approximately £l3. which was a very good effort indeed. The Scooters’ and Cubbers’ reports indicated that the Scout and Cub troops were in a flourishing condition, and the number of boys on the roll at the present time was approximately one hundred. The speaker thanked the officers on behalf of the committee, for their efforts during the year, and referred to the sacrifice involved in successfully running troops of boys. Ocean Beach, lie said, was fortunate in having troop leaders of such calibre. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr K. M. Lough; troop president. Mr J. Beattie; chairman of committee, Mr W. Pullar; vicechairman, Mr ,1. P. Todd: secretary and 1 rca.-urer. Mr J. Loraine.
