COMMUNITY SINGING
The sing this week will again take place in the Empire Theatre (by courtesy of the management) on rnday, between 12.30 and 1.30 p.m. The committee would take this opportunity to apologise for the absence of Madame Margherita Zeluuda, who through being indisposed was unable to appear last week. She is not yet well enough to take part in this week’s sing, but the committee hopes to have_ her assistance before the sings are finished. This week the committee has been fortunate in having the services of Mr Clinton Williams, of Auckland, a well-known baritone singer, who will _ sing songs suitable for the occasion with choruses. Mr H. P. Desmoulins will again be in charge, and ho has also promised to have some other specialties which win ho announced in Thursday’s paper. _ Mr Paul Cullen will bo at the Christie organ, and Miss Rita Holmes as usual will be at the piano. The attendance last week was exceptionally large, and the collection was up to the standard, but tho committee would still impress on listeners-in to send in donations to swell the fund for the mayor s unemployment relief.
