MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS At the final meeting of the Management Committee of the Otago Football Association for the season, held last evening, the secretary of the New Zealand Football Council advised that a special general meeting of delegates would bo held in Wellington on October 18 to consider, alterations and amendments to the rules of the New Zealand Football Association, and to the Football Association trophy, Brown Shield, Peter Dawson Cup, and Chatham Cup rules. On the motion of the chairman (Mr J. Simpson) it was decided to give a free hand to Mr Campbell, the Otago delegate. Arrangements were made for the final match of the knock-out competition between Mosgiel and Mornington, to be played on “ Queen’s Park,” Mosgiel, next Saturday, at 3 p.m. _ It was decided that a curtain-raiser should also be played _ between the Roslyn-Wakari and Mosgiel third grade teams, commencing at 1.45 p.m. Mr A. Bowie was appointed referee for tho main game, with Messrs A. Harborne and M. Gray as linesman. The Rev. F. J. Ferry was appointed referee for the curtain-raiser. The Chairman moved that the Seaolilf Club be declared the winner for the 1932 season, and in doing so congratulated the club on its success. The club, he said, had given a very creditable performance. Mr A. Stevens seconded the motion, and the secretary was instructed to forward the association’s congratulations. The Secretary of the Sencliff Club (Mr W. Hooper) wrote asking whether the association would ho prepared to give a set of medals (thirteen) to go with the Fletcher Cup trophy this year. He stated that, failing this, the club was prepared to do its best to procure a set, and asked whether the association would give a donation towards the cost.—After discussion the members of the committee agreed, though the suggestion appealed to them, that, in view of the depression, any funds available should bo granted towards assisting clubs with unemployed members in preference to adopting the course mentioned by the Seacliff Club. It was decided that the application be regretfully declined. The Secretary reported that all the arrangements in connection with tho presentation of prizes were complete. Messrs A. Sharpe, M. K. Haig, F. Ball W. Lunn, with Mr J. Simpson as chairman, were appointed a Recess Committee. Mr Sharpe moved that it should be a recommendation to the Recess Committee that tho annual meeting of delegates should be called at an earlier date than last year, so that matches could be got under way early in tho new season. The Chairman stated that, as this was the final meeting of the full committee, he wished personally to thank tho members for the splendid manner in which all had attended to their various duties during the season. Despite some criticism which had appeared in the Press, the association had had a wonderful season. The committee had accomplished much, and he trusted their services would be available for next year. , On the motion of Mr A. Sharpe the chairman (Mr J. Simpson) and the secretary (Mr A. W. Sinclair) were accorded a special vote of thanks. Mr Sharpe stated that both had done good work for the game! Mr Sinclair had again proved his worth in the position, and only those actively connected with the administration of the game understood the amount of work involved in the position.
