PIRATES’ HOARD
COCOS ISLAND TREASURE . REPORTED DISCOVERY. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, June 24. A report that the Canadian expedition, led by Colonel J. K. Lcckie, had discovered a pirates’ hoard of treasure which was buried on Cocos Island after it had been stolen from Lima Cathedral over a century ago, is not confirmed. It is said that the metalophone is believed to have located the Devonshire treasure near the spot where Admiral Pallier searched, but the news is too indefinite for acceptance.
