THE NEW POST OFFICE
TO TUB EDITOR. Sir, —There has been voluminous cqrrespondence in your newspaper with reference to the non-erection of the Post Office, and also references have been made to the water accumulating on the foundations. I desire, on behalf c£ many of those who are required to | spend their days in Bond street in the 1 vicinity of the Post Office site, to pro- | test emphatically at the inaction of thd ; 1 authorities in not compelling the re-3 moval of the accumulated water. Afi j the present time it is of a dark green s colour and stinks aloud, the consequence j being that members of staffs of offices ! in the vicinity have been laid up with, •, throat troubles which are directly traceable to the fumes arising. Would you he good enough to publish this letter in the hope that perhaps the City Council will exercise its rights in demanding from the Public Works Department the immediate removal of a distinct menace to the health of our people?—l am, etc., S. B. Macdonald. May 3.
