TREASURES OF TUTANKHAMEN

The most important archaeological find in Egypt exceeding in number and richness any other group of articles of one period will bo described by Mr E. Hoadlam Greonhow, London Authors’ Society, at the Concert Chamber this evening. The pictures accompanying Mr Greenhow’s address bring out the details of the magnificent furniture, priceless vases of alabaster, jewel caskets, and all objects in the tomb to perfection. Mr Grcenhow has much valuable information concerning each object, including th golden inner coffin containing the king, the gold portrait mask, gold and jewelled cartonage cases in the sarcophagus, and all the priceless relics of an age-old civilisation. A programme of Eastern music will be played during the evening. Mr Greenhow’s last lecture before he leaves for Invercargill will take place on Thursday evening, when another request subject will be given, ‘England—the Dear Homeland.’ This will embrace every portion of England, and the pictures will portray the historic interest and charm of the Land of our Fathers.
