Forecast. The Dominion Meteorologist (Dr B. Kidson), supplied the following at noon to-day:—The indications are for south-easterly winds, moderate to strong and freshening; expect dull weather, with much mist and fog in parts; rain probable and snow on high country; barometer unsteady, but rising shortly; seas rough; tides good. ARRIVED—ApriI 30. Holmdale, s.s. (6.30 a.m.), 681 tons, m '.Vaxlgsinn via ports. Through the rain interfering with loading operations on the Waimarino, the vessel will not now sail for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland until 3 a.m. on Monday. An early arrival at Dunedin this morning was tho Holmdale, from Wellington. On account of the rain she will not sail to-night as previously arranged, but will go on Monday for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Tho Waipiata left Auckland last night with cargo for discharge at Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due here next Wednesday, and will sail the same day for Bluff, returning to this port to load next Saturday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Opihi is fixed to load at Dunedin next Thursday for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth via the usual ports. Rain has delayed the Orepuki at this port, and she will probably sail to-nigbt for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Leaving Wellington last night, the motor ship Holmgleu is due at Dunedin to-morrow to load out on Monday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, New Plymouth, and Waikato. TAMAROA LEAVES PANAMA. The Tamaroa, which left Wellington on April 6 for Southampton and London via Panama and Curacao, sailed from Panama on Monday afternoon. PORT DUNEDIN REPORTS. En route from London, the Port Dunedin has reported by wireless that she expects to arrive at Wellington tomorrow afternoon. NOTICE TO MARINERS. The Marino Department’ advises that on April 2 a line of soundings was taken by the Matai when she was crossing the bar at Hokianga, and a least depth of 22ft M.L.W.S. was obtained with flagstaff bearing 079cieg. The position is lat. 35deg 32min S., long, 173 deg 21min E. THE FERRY SERVICE. The Rangatira, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.40 this morning, and passengers and mails connected with tho through train.
