PORT HUON DUE WEDNESDAY. Messrs J. W. Swift and Company advise that the Port Huon, now at Lyttelton unloading West Coast of England cargo, is due at Port Chalmers on Wednesday to complete discharge and to commence loading for tho trip back. She sails about the end of the week for Bluff, Lyttelton, and Wellington to fill up, sailing from Wellington about May 14 for London via Cape Horn and Dakar. FLOATING DOCK MOORINGS. The Marine Department warns mariners to keep clear of the floating dock moorings, which are laid in depths of from 34ft to 39ft M.L.W.S., within an area enclosed by a line drawn 170 deg 2 ; 000ft from the outer end of explosives wharf, Kaiwarra, thence by a line drawn 260 deg to the reclamation wall. A white mooring buoy is moored in a position 186 deg 1,700 ft from the outer end of explosive wharf, Kaiwarra. HOUGOMONT DISMASTED. The Secretary of the General Post Office has received the following radio message from Adelaide, sent at 12.4 a.m. on Wednesday:—“Shipmasters are notified that the barque Hougomont was reported dismasted at 1 p.m. on April 25 in lat. 37.36 S., long. 133.15 E. p proceeding under a' small square sail on fore lower mast; main and mizzen gone, and are requested to. report on Hougoraont’s position if sighted. The Hougomont is bound from London to Port Lincoln.” PERSONAL. Captain D. Christie is in command of the Pakeha, which arrived at Wellington on Wednesday in ballast from London, and his officers are:—Chief, Mr R. A. Coster; second, Mr G. B. M'Craith; third, Mr A. J. Tillott; fourth, Mr A. E. Warren; chief engineer, Mr D. I. Robertson; second, Mr R. C. Evans; third, Mr T. M. Roberts: fourth, Mr E. W. Howard; fifth, Mr W. Scott; sixth, Mr H. C. M‘Callum; seventh, Mr A. Neilson; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr T. H. White; second, Mr D. A. Adie; chief steward, Air F, W. Shead; wireless operator Air N. R. Vince. Captain W. J. Wyllic, the veteran master of the Ulimaroa, is in command of the Zealandia. Other officers who have been transferred to the newer ship are Aly N. F. Cook (first officer), Mr T. H. Crane (purser), Mr H. F. Hartley (wireless operator), and Dr J. A. Peters (ship’s surgeon). NEW MOTOR TANKER. The new Norwegian motor tanker Herborg, which left Auckland yesterday for Lyttelton to put' out bulk oil from; San Francisco, completes discharge at Tinlaru, and will not now crime to Dunedin. The vessel whiisi. is on her maiden - voyage, was Built at Copenhagen and launched last September. After being laid up far four months she proceeded from Norway to San Francisco to load. Her tonnage is 7,892 gross and she is fitted with twin Diesel engines, each of 2,200 h.p. Her speed is 11 knots loaded and 12J knots light. Her carrying capacity is 10,630 tons, equal to about 4,000,000 gal of oil. The cargo is carried in nine double tanks and ten summer tanks. The engines are aft, and nearby are the engineers’ and seamen’s quarters. The captain and officers are accommodated under the bridge, which is amidships. The vessel is owned by Messrs Herlofson and. Co., Aloss, Norway. The crew numbers thirty-four all told. Captain J. Paulsen is in command and his son is chief officer. A CABIN CLASS SHIP. The Shaw, Saville Mataroa, which arrives at Port Chalmers to-morrow irony London and Southampton via Wellington and Lyttelton to discharge general cargo, formerly carried first and third class passengers, but is now a cabin class ship. Tho vessel still has her third class accommodation, but it was not used on the trip to New Zealand and will probably be dismantled when the ship returns to London. Captain J. H.
