NOTHING FROM APPEAL LONDON, April 5. One of the biggest lawsuits of tho century, involving tho use of half a ton of documents, was mentioned in the Cotfrt of Appeal recently, when the Master of the Rolls, Lord Hanworth, dismissed, with costs, an appeal by Mrs Napier, widow of Mr Montague Stanley Napier. Mrs Napier appealed from an order made by Lord Merrivale on January 25 that her action against Mrs Henry Cooke, the executor, in connection with Mr Napier’s will, be tried without a Mr Napier, formerly chairman and joint managing director of Messrs D. Napier and Son Ltd., the motor car and aeroplane engine manufacturers, died at Cannes in January, 1931, leaving £1,243,000. Mrs Napier received nothing under the will, and only comparatively small bequests were made to her children. Mr Napier left £IO,OOO and a life interest in his residuary estate to Mrs North Mary Fryer, widow of his medical adviser.' It has been estimated that Mrs Fryer would thus receive £700,000. Mrs Napier alleged undue influence by Mrs Fryer.
