Tho Orcpuki, which arrived yesterday from the north, is to sail to-night tor Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, i’icton, and Wanganui, Expected to leave Bluff at 6 p.m. to-day, the Waipiata is to land a consignment of wool at Port Chalmers tomorrow morning, and then come to town to load general cargo. She is to sail the same day for Timaru. Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Tho Shaw, , Savill, and Albion steamer Tairoa is to load at Lyttleton, Nelson, Wanganui, and Wellington, being scheduled to reach Lyttelton on May 2, and to sail from Wellington for Southampton and London via Panama and Kingston on May 17. Tlio coastal tanker Paua arrived hack at Dunedin on Saturday afternoon to unload bulk oil. She is timed to sail this afternoon for Bluff. MONOWAI FOR SAN FRANCISCO. Tho Royal .Mail liner Monowai arrived at Wellington this morning from Sydney on her way to San Francisco via Rarotonga and Papeete. She continues tho trip to-morrow. ASHBURTON LEAVES NEW YORK. The .Ashburton left New York on Sunday morning for New Zealand. She is coming out via Gulf of Mexico ports, and her Now Zealand ports and her time of arrival are as yet uncertain. THE PORT GISBORNE. The C. and D. ship Port Gisborne is timed to sail from New York on April 30 for Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She is due at -Auckland about May 29. THE KARAMEA. The Karamea is to sail from Liverpool on April 23 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is due at Auckland about June 2. GALLIC LEAVES SYDNEY. The Gallic, on route from London via the Capo of Good Hope, in ballast, sailed from Sydney on Wednesday afternoon. She is duo at Oamarn today to commence her Homeward loading in New Zealand.:

TAMAROA REPORTS “ ALL WELL.”The Shaw, Savill Company has received a wireless message from its liner Tamaroa, which left Wellington at daybreak on April 6 for Southampton and London via the Panama Canal, reporting that she lias been experiencing fine weather; all well on board. The Blaori was recommissioned in the Lyttelton ferry service on Thursday under tho command of Captain G. 13. Morgan, late of the Marama. The deck officers are:—Chief, Blr F. W. Collins; second, Blr BV. H. Blillwood; third, Blr F. H. Clark. Blr Cornelius Deane, for thirty years a member of the staff of Messrs Williams and Kettle at Napier, and previously ono of the staff of the Napier office of the New Zealand Shipping Company, died at Napier on Blonday. Blr Deane was born at Everton, Liverpool, in 1864, and joined the Liverpool branch of the New Zealand Shipping Company in 1881. In 1883 he was transferred to the company’s London office, and two years later became purser on the R. 81.5. Ruapehu. He had that position for six years, leaving it to join the R. 81.5. Rimntaka in a similar capacity. In 1892 he left the sea and joined the staff of the company's office in Christchurch, and very shortly afterwards was transferred to the Napier office. In 1900 he left to join Blessrs Williams and Kettle, and had remained with the firm during the whole of' tho thirty-two years since then.

The Union Company’s Waikouaiti, from Newcastle, Sydney, and Hobart via Bluff, arrived at Dunedin yesterday to discharge general cargo and coal. She is to sail to-morrow for Lyttelton, Timaru, Bluff, Sydney, and Newcastle. PENYBRYN’S PHOSPHATE. With a part shipment of phosphate from Nauru Island, the Norwegian steamer Penybryn reached Port Chalmers from Lyttelton yesterday, but as the Wirral was occupying the berth at Ravensbourne, the Penybryn had to anchor in the Lower Harbour until this afternoon. When she has discharged some of the phosphate at Ravensbourne she will shift to Port Chalmers to put out a load there, and is to sail finally about Friday for Wanganui. NORTHUMBERLAND FILLING UP. To conclude her loading programme in the dominion, the Federal steamer Northumberland arrived at Port Chalmers this morning from Auckland. She is to load general cargo, meat, fruit, and produce here, and is to sail on Wednesday for London via Blontevideo and Dakar. Captain H. L. Swift, PORT NAPIER’S FINAL LOADING. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line steamer Port Napier arrived at Port Chalmers yesterday from 'Wellington to fill up for Home. She takes on a consignment of wool, including a quantity from Bluff, and is to sail about 1 p.m. on Wednesday for London via Blontevideo and Cape Horn. The vessel made the voyage to New Zealand in ballast, and called at Newcastle to replenish her bunkers. The voyage was uneventful, strong northoast winds being experienced on the passage from Newcastle to Auckland. Capfc. C. P. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor vessel Orari reached Dunedin yesterday from Liverpool via northern ports to put out portion of her Horne cargo at the Victoria wharf. She is to sail on Wednesday to complete discharge and to commence loading, coming back to Port Chalmers on April 26 for further loading. She then fills up at Timaru, Wellington, and Auckland, and leaves Auckland about May 9 for London via Capo Horn and Dakar. Cargo for this trip was loaded at Glasgow, Avonmoutli, Newport, and Liverpool. The vessel sailed from Liverpool on February 20. She called at Dakar on February 27 to replenish her oil fuel bunkers, and the voyage was resumed the following day. Continuous westerly winds prevailed during the crossing of the Indian Ocean, but when the vessel was nearing Wilson’s .Promotory she experienced a severe cyclone. For twelve hours the wind blew a strong gale from west-south-west, accompanied by a high following sea. At times the fierce squalls reached hurricane force. The same evening the storm abated and was followed by light winds in Bass Strait. In the Tasman Sea continuous strong north-east winds and head seas prevailed util tire vessel rounded Cape Maria van Diemen, when the conditions improved. _ a Captain F.
