BELLEKNOWES GOLF CLUB
SUCCESSFUL ANNUAL MEETING About 100 enthusiastic members attended the annual general meeting of the Belleknowes Golf Club held in the Otago Bowling Club’s pavilion last evening. The president (Mr C. Russell Smith) occupied the chair. The hon,'treasurer read the statement of receipts and payments, and after the chairman had commented on various items and thanked the committees for the enthusiasm they had shown in the club’s affairs, he formally moved its adoption, which was seconded by Mr E. 0. Nees. The chairman then referred to the excellent services rendered by the hon. treasurer (Mr A: M'Millan), and further mentioned that Messrs Kemp, Wales, and M’Millan (the Green Committee) deserved the appreciation of the members for the very excellent manner in which they had looked after the greens and fairways. Several members complimented the executive on the excellent progress made during the year and also the excellent statement which, when being put to the meeting, was carried unanimously. After some discussion on matters affecting the general welfare of the club, the election of office-bearers lor 1932 was proceeded with, and resulted as follows:—President, Mr C. RuSsell Smith; vice-presidents—Messrs J. 1. Cooper, W. Robson, J. Allan, G. Kemp, E. 0. Nees, and J. Long; hon. treasurer, Mr A. M'Millan; hon. secretary, Mr W. S. Roberts; hon. auditor, Mr F. J. Morrison; Green Committee— Messrs A. M'Millan, G. Kemp, and N. Y. A. Wales; General Committee— Messrs J. Gooseman, E. A. Lucas, N. Y. A. Wales. K. Pavitt, T. 0. Brebner, and A. Davie; Match Committee —Messrs E. A. Lucas, T. 0. Brebner, and W. L. Booth; club captain, Mr E. A. Lucas; Ladies’ Match Committee Mesdames Sparrow, Wales, and O’Grady; ladies’ secretary, Mrs M. Brebner; ladies’ club captain, Mrs C. Kay. The presentation of prizes was then proceeded with, the following being the winners of the principal trophies:— Club champion, Mr W. L. Booth (W. G. Hay Cup); junior club champion, Mr E. J. Olsen .(E. 0. Nees Cup); knock-out competition, Mr D. Mackay (A. M'Millan Cup) ; President’s Cup, Mr A. Davie (C. Russell Smith Cup); ladies’ club champion, Miss M. M'Lcod (J. T. Cooper Cup) ; ladies' junior champion, Mrs C. Kay (Walter Strang Cup). , The winner of the Ladies’ Golf Union silver medal was Miss B._ Orr and of the bronze medal Mrs C. Kay,
