Heavy rain early this morning washed the wicket, which was easy. Mitchell failed to get going this morning. Ho could do nothing with Allcott, who got him out in his second over. His innings had lasted for 302 minutes. The side was all out twenty minutes Jater, Allcott having taken seven for 75. Auckland opened badly. Mills and Frater (who succeeded him) were both snapped up in the slips, with only three scored. Vivian joined Weir, and played a ball from M’Millan on to Ids stumps, but the bails wore not dislodged.
