Kidson) supplied the following at noon to-day:—The indications are for southerly moderate to strong freshening winds; weather cloudy to overcast, rain probable; weather will probably become colder; barometer' rising; sea rough off shore, tides good. ARRlVED.—December 23. Waimarino, s.s. (9.10 a.m.), 3,067 tons, Prosser, from Auckland, via ports. The Waimarino arrived this morning from Auckland via ports, and is to load for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland.

Tho Opihi is to load at Dunedin on Monday for. Wellington,. Nelson, and New Plymouth, Oamaru and Lyttelton being ommitted from the itinerary. The motor ship Port Dunedin is to leave Lyttelton on Christmas Day for London via Cape Horn. Tho Wingatai went alongside the Union Company’s wharf at Port Chalmers yesterday to lie np.

THE FERRY SERVICE. Passengers and mails by the Wahino, from Wellington, reached Lyttelton at 6.50 this morning in time to transfer to the train coming south. . RANGITANE FOR DISCHARGE. ■ The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that its motor liner Rangitane is expected to leave Lyttelton to-mor-row for Port Chalmers, where she will berth the next morning to discharge portion of her cargo taken on at Home. THE FOUR CANTERBURY VESSELS. After transhipping her cargo to the Calm, the Storm went into dock at Lvttelton yesterday afternoon, and was followed by the Breeze, which had emptied her cargo into the Gale. The Calm sailed last night for Wanganui via ports, and the Gale is ready to leave for Bluff and Dunedin. The latter vessel is due here on Tuesday now to load out for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. MAUNGANUI’S PASSENGERS. The Port Alelbourue is due at Bluff ou January 12 from Australia to commence her Homeward loading, and will later complete at Port Chalmers, Picton, Wellington, and Auckland. She is scheduled to clear Auckland finally on February 2 for London via Capo Horn and Montevideo. The Federal Company advises that the motor ship Opawa, at present en route from Liverpool to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Tfmnru, has been fixed to commence her Homeward loading during discharge at Timaru about January IS. She will subsequently complete at Port Chalmers, Bluff, Napier, Wellington, and Lyttelton. The vessel is scheduled to dear Lvttelton finally on February 6 for London, Avonmonth, Liverpool, and Glasgow via Cape Horn and Dakar,

OIL BARGE FOR WELLINGTON. Advice has been received by the Shell Oil Company that the company’s new oil barge, the Shell, left Singapore on Friday in tow of the tanker Ampiillaria, which is bringing a cargo of motor spirit to Wellington. How long, the voyage will take depends upon the weather encountered in the Tasman Sea, but it is expected that the'tanker and its charge will arrive about January 14. AVIRELESS NOTICE.
