SUICIDE BELIEVED. Ernest Jackson, an Auckland fish merchant, left bis shop yesterday morning in a motor car. The car was seen about an hour later outside the Henderson Domain, and last evening Jackson’s body was found near the bank of a creek. At the inquest, which was adjourned, it was stated that he Lad written to bis sister-in-law, saying that he intended to commit suicide.—Press Association. CASE AGAINST DOCTOR. [Pie United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH. December 22. John Ebenezer Kelly Brown, aged forty-five, a doctor, was charged to-day with being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor car in Hereford street last evening, and was remanded to January 14, bail being allowed in £25. Counsel for the defence said Dr Brown had, been 111. and before going out on Monday took some “ dope ” bromide, etc.—which affected him.
