FORESTERS
The fortnightly meeting of the above court was held in the court room, Oddfellows’ Hall, Stuart street, on Tuesday last. The C.R., Bro. J. D. Wright, presided. A letter was received from Bro. George Dick, of Alexandra, stating that he would not be able to be present to receive his fifty years’ membership present, which took ithe form of an ebony walking' stick, suitably inscribed. This member is eighty-two years of age. Letters of sympathy were sent to Court Pride of Dunedin and Court St. Andrew, which had lost two brothers-—P.C.R. Bro. W. Anderson and C.R. Bro. M'Lean. S.C.R. Bro. J. A Breen reported on visits to Courts Woodland’s Pride, Pride of Dunedin, and King Edward’s Pride. Official visits were received from Courts Woodland’s Pride, Pride _ of Dunedin, and King Edward’s Pride. The C.R., Bro. Wright, gave them a hearty welcome with the Foresters toast, which was responded to by P.C.R. Sister ‘Strickman, of .Woodland’s Pride; Sister Paris, of King Edward’s Pride, and C.R; Bro. Pearson, of Pride of Dunedin. After the close of the meeting a dance was held, the music being supplied by Bro. Hargreaves. The minute secretary, acting as M.C., kept the dancers busy. Supper was handed around by the court officers. During the dance P.C.R. Bro. N. M'Donald presented the walking stick for Bro. Dick to Bro. Hogg, to he sent to him, and the minute secretary presented the ladies of the 500 tournaments»with their prizes, they being P.C.R. Bro. W. Fleming (of Court Pride of Dunedin) and P.C.R. Bro. T. Mason. These competitions will he carried on in the coming year, and are open to members of all courts.
