STUDENTS’ RECITAL

MISS SINCLAIR'S PUPILS There was an excellent attendance at The, Bristol Concert Chamber on Tuesday evening, when the pupils of Miss Kate G. Sinclair gave their annual recital. On this occasion they were assisted by Big Brother Bill’s Radio Choir, which has been training under the direction of Miss Sinclair during the year. Bowls of poppies and roses decorated the stage, and before the proceedings commenced Miss Dorothy Baton, on behalf of the pupils, presented a beautiful bouquet of roses to Miss Sinclair. The first part of the programme was devoted to the juniors, who performed their songs, recitations, pianoforte solos, and choir items in a clever and pleasing manner. The seniors contributed sixteen interesting and varied items, which were listened to with evident enjoyment. During the interval Big Brother Bill, in his usual happy manner, thanked the members of the choir for the assistance they had given during the year, and expressed to Miss Sinclair his appreciation of her efforts. The programme was as follows; ‘ Birds of the Summertime,’ junior choir; recitation, ‘ The Kittens,’ Dorothy Baton; song, »‘ Spring,’ Nellie Walker and Helen Paterson; piano solo, ‘ The Rainstorm ’ (Cuthbert Harris). Rena Harris; recitation, ‘Better Still.’ Fergus Still; song, ‘Waiting for a Bite,’ Billy Dyson and Jack Fergus (chorus by boys); recitation, ‘ Sad Waste of Time,’ Joyce Richards; part song, ‘ 0 Wert Thou in the Canid Blast,’ junior girls; song, ‘ Daisy Children, Juno Francis; recitation, selected, Bessie More; ‘ By-IoJ choir. Seniors: ‘Alleluia’ Miss Kathleen Watson; ‘Silver Eyes,’ choir; ‘An Eriskay Love Lilt ’ (M. Kenncdy-Fraser and N. Macleod), Miss Ngarita Gordon ; ‘ Angus MacDonald,’ Miss Ella Wvllie; ‘The Lass With the Delicate Air ” (Dr Arne). Miss Dorothy Ramsay ; duet, ‘ Bells ot Gold,’ Misses Proctor and Young; ‘ Before the Sun Awakes the Morn’ and ‘The Bells,’ choir; ‘ Ombra ma Fui ’ (Handel), Miss E. Young; ‘ The Little Damozcl,’ Miss Joy Proctor; duct, ‘Home Far Away’ (Mendelssohn), Misses Mitchell and Jamieson; ‘Child and Mother,’ Miss June Francis; duet, ‘Nocturne’ (Denza), Misses Proctor and Young; ‘Autumn Days,’ choir; _‘A Heart ‘That’s Free ’ (Robyn), Miss D. Ramsay; ‘ Ring, Bells, Ring,’ Miss K. Watson; ‘I Would That My Love,’ choir. The accompanists wore Miss Jean MacDonald and Miss Sinclair.
