ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
FOUND HANGED. James Wilson, aged sixty-one, retired, was found, hanging from the rafters of a shed in a .paudock at the rear of his residence in York street, Hastings, at 12.45 yesterday afternoon. Mrs Wilson missed her husband on returning from a shopping visit to town and a neighbour found him as stated. The deceased was cut down, but life was extinct. FARMER’S SUICIDE.' A verdict of suicide while of unsound mind was returned at the inquest held at Owaka on Tuesday on the death ot Thomas Glass, of Ratanui. The deceased was a farmer, and lived all his life at Ratanui. He was a married man with four children. Evidence was given to the effect that he had Previously threatened to take lus life. On tho day of his death ho complained ot pains in his stomach and heart, but would not allow his wife to send lor a doctor. Little notice was taken or his behaviour, as it was not unusual. His condiation became worse, and finally his wife sent for Dr Johnson, \\heii ho arrived, however, Glass was dead. A bottle of poison was found beside his bed, and, in the opinion ot the doctor, poisoning was the cause or death. Air A. C. Saunders, J.P., acted as coroner. LEG FRACTURE AND ABRASIONS, Herbert Luskie, aged 48, fell from the tower wagon used for repair work in connection with the overhead tram wires, and was taken to the hospital at 1.30 thisi-afternoon suffering from a left leg fracture and abrasions.
