THE REBELLION IN BURMA SITUATION GROWING WORSE. DELHI, May 4. (Received May 5, at 11 a.m.) Despite large-scale military and police operations against the Burmese rebels, tho situation is growing worse. The Crown forces are finding it increasingly difficult to cope with tho guerrilla warfare, murder, and loot in tho jungles of tho Tharrawaddy district. Tho Government policy of favouring police action rather than military operations is regarded as having done little to quell the rebellion. More troops are now moving up.
