MISS KATE SINCLAIR’S RECITAL
All enjoyable evening was spent at tlie Somerset Lounge on Monday, when the pupils of Miss Kate Sinclair gave their annual recital. A bright lire, and' vases of gay poppies and roses gave the room a cheerful air, contrasting pleasantly with the conditions prevailyig out of doors. There was a good attendance of parents and friends, who enjoyed the following interesting and varied programme : —‘ I Would That My _ Love ’ (Mendelssohn), Ladies’ Choir; ‘I Am Fate’ (Hemblen), Mr 1). Napier ; ‘ Only _ a River .Running By’ (Hopkins), Miss Dorothy Mitchell; ‘The Enchantress’ (Hatton), Miss Kathleen Watson; ‘Homo Far Away’ (Mendelssohn), quartet; ‘A Little Glearu of Sun’ (Drummond), Miss _ Ngarita Gordon; ‘ Serenata ’ (Tossclli). Mr J. Harvey; ‘My Heart Ls Weary ’ (Goring Thomas), Miss Ella Wyllic; ‘Night Hymn at Sea’ (R. Thompson), choir; ‘ Thank God for a Garden ’ (Teresa del Ricgo), Miss Young; ‘ Cavatina ’ (from ‘La Sonnainbuia ’), Mr D. Napier; ‘Lullaby’ (Brahms), Miss N. Gordon; ‘ Arise, O Sun ’ (Day), Misses Ramsay and Watson; ‘Birthof Morn,’ Master 10. Edmonds; ‘Yon in a Gondola ’ (Clarke), Miss Young; ‘ The Lass With the Delicate Air ’ (Arno), Miss 1). Ramsay; ‘ Believe Mo If All Those Endearing Young Charms,’ Mr Harvey; ‘ Bowl of Roses,’ sextet; ‘Happy Song’ (Teresa del Riego), Miss D. Mitchell; ‘Vesper Hymn,’ Master E. Edmonds; ‘ The Evening Song’ (Mendelssohn), Misses Mitchell and Jamieson; ‘Home Song’ (Liddle), Miss K. Watson; ‘ Take a Pair of Sparkling Eyes,’ Mr Harvey; ‘Gipsy Scene’ (from ‘ II Trovatore ’), Misses Ramsay and Watson; ‘Ring, Bolls, Ring’ (Day), Miss Ella Wyllie; ‘Blow, Blow, Thou Wintry Wind’ (Sarieant), Mr D. Napier; ‘ll Bacio ’ (Arditi), Miss D. Ramsay; ‘Sabbath Morn’ (Mendelssohn), choir. At the conclusion of the' programme Miss Ramsay, on behalf of tho pupils, presented Miss Sinclair with a beautiful Victorian posy. A dainty supper was then served, and a successful function later brought to a dose with the singing of 4 Auld Lang Syne.’-
