PETITION T# JUDGE [Petitions under the Bankruptcy Act came before His Honour, Mr Justice Kennedy this morning. ANNULMENT MADE. ■ Application was made to have an- ■ milled the adjudication of bankruptcy against John Cameron. Mr Wi Gi Hay, who appeared in support of the application, said that Cameron was adjudicated a bankrupt . in December, 1921, the debts amounting to £571 7s Bd. At that time ho, had a life interest in an estate which should have been worth £9OO. ■ The Official ,Assignee administered the life interest) and had been able to pay the debts in full. If an order for annulf ment were made the life interest revested without a further order being made. The creditors all consented, and the Assignee had no objection. • His Honour said it had been proved that the debts of the bankrupt had been fully paid and satisfied. An order would be made annulling the adjudicatlon’ DISCHARGE REFUSED. ■ William Alexander Aikenhead, for whom Mr 11.- S. Brenmer appeared, made application for his discharge from bankruptcy. Mr Bremner said he understood the Assignee was opposing he discharge Ho would like to say that the bankrupt was a labouring man who was unlikely to be in better circumstances in the future. The sum of 2s 8d in the £ had been paid. _ His Honour said it was a question whether a discharge should bo' granted in view of the report of the Official Ass.gnee on his conduct. The ‘ discharge was refused. DISCHARGES GRANTED. Leslie Field Reid, for whom Mr C. , J. L. White appeared, applied for his .: discharge frora bankruptcy. Mr White said the Assignee recommended a discharge, and suggested the bankrupt ‘ should pay 5s in the £. The bankrupt had paid regularly £1 a week until a . ’ sum in excess of £1 a week had been paid. His Honour said it was a case . in which having regard to the efforts of the bankrupt to pay something, immediate discharge . could he grantedCecil Werner Henty applied for discharge from bankruptcy, Mr E. J. PSmith appearing in support.—His Honour said he thought it was a for immediate discharge, and made an order accordingly. A discharge from bankruptcy was granted to Victor Stanley Campbell subject to his consenting to judgment being entered against him by the Official Assignee for £52. William Melton Clark, for whom Mr W. L. Moore appeared, was granted . a discharge from bankruptcy, and a similar order was made in the case of Harry Oswald Holland, for whom Mr W. F. Forrester appeared. Discharge was also granted to Frederiek Lewis Michel, for whom Mr W. L. Moore appeared. Edward O’Fee, who applied for his discharge, said the Assignee recommended the discharge if ho consented to judgment for £IOO. Ho had a wife and five children, and could not pay any more.—The Assignee said that in view of circumstances now 'disclosed he admitted that the bankrupt was being asked to pay rather much. His Honour granted a discharge.
