ON THE ROLLERS

REGAL RINK The Regal Skating Rink in Cumberland street has now been open to the public for thirteen weeks, and the attendances at tho daily sessions continue to prove the popularity of this excellent branch of entertainment. Tho ordinary attractions of tho rink have been enhanced by the introduction of competitions for silver cups. Already selections in two competitions have closed, and tho latest competitions are for two-step and waltzing couples, the selections for which are made on Wednesday and Saturday evenings respectively. Other competitions are also being arranged, and full details will bo given at a later date. The finals of all the competitions will bo held on a special gala night, the date of which has not yet been fixed. Tho session hours are as follow:—Morning, 10 to 11, when private tuition by appointment is given ; lunch hour, noon to 1 o’clock, and 1 to 2; afternoon, 2.30 to 4; evening sessions, 5.45 to 6.45, and 7.30 to 10; late night sessions (Wednesday and Saturday), 7.30 to 11; Saturday morning, 10 to 11.30.

SOUTH DUNEDIN RINK The sessions at the new. South Dunedin Rink have so far been well patropised, especially in the evening, when there have been largo attendances of both skaters and spectators. The smooth surface of the wooden floor makes skating a pleasure, while the appropriate music also adds to the patron’s enjoyment. \Vith tho ample supply’of now skates, arid with the good management, tho rink should continue to give patrons the pleasure they seek on the rollers.
